I am so glad you're here and taking your next step toward healing!
Many clients come to therapy because something has hit the fan. Whether relationship stress, struggles in parenting, anxiety, depression or identity crisis, we just feel stuck. These symptoms are often the result of surviving and coping the best way we know how, sometimes for years. I specialize in working with clients to process and heal from traumatic experiences and relational wounds. I want to help you address the current struggles, looking at not only what's going on right now, but where those painful parts of your story first took root.
We are designed for wholeness and connection—both within ourselves and in relationship to others. Sparrow Therapy Collective seeks to create a safe, supportive space where every part of you is welcome. Together, we'll gently explore your experiences so you can move toward greater clarity, self-understanding, and emotional freedom. My hope is that through our work together, you'll feel more grounded in your story and more able to build secure, meaningful connections with the people in your life.
We are all born into the world, looking for someone looking for us. - Curt Thompson, M.D.
Meet Lori,
Founder of Sparrow Therapy Collective
Hey y’all! I am so grateful you’re here! I've been in Colorado for over a decade, but come from a long line of tough, scrappy Texas women. After 20 years working in international non-profit work, half of that time in Asia, my family and I moved to Denver. Turns out, sometimes life happens to all of us and we aren’t always as tough as we thought. Walking through my own therapy journey, and caring for others that I fiercely love, I realized that my passion comes alive sitting with individuals in both the best and worst parts of their story.
Graduating from Denver Seminary, I have spent the past 8 years sitting with clients in the therapy room as a Licensed Professional Counselor, gently guiding, witnessing, and supporting courageous healing. Work with me includes an emphasis on building secure attachments, informed by an expertise in trauma care. I will focus on creating a safe space together, to bring all parts of your cultural story into the room. I believe that we are most whole when we are connected; to the parts of ourselves that have been surviving, to secure relationships with those around us and ultimately grounded and connected to our larger place in the world.
In my free time, I am most often with my family and friends, enjoying the beauty of Colorado, my Crossfit crew, and eating lots of tacos. Our house is a rowdy crowd, full of our young adult and teen children, one grumpy old dog and more chickens than we intended to own. I am so glad you're here!

A note about faith...
As you can see from my education, I attended a seminary for grad school. I’m asked often if I’m a “Christian Counselor.” Those words mean so many things to so many people. I am a licensed professional therapist who seeks to practice ethically, with clinical expertise backed by evidence based practice. Through my world view, born out of Christian faith, I believe that ALL PEOPLE are created in the image of goodness. ALL PEOPLE deserve to know that they are loved and precious, carrying inside of them inherent dignity and worth. Period. No exceptions.
Religious communities and faith can be a tricky place. For some, those spaces are a strong support. Integrating this supportive faith into your therapy can be so beneficial. If this is you, I’m so grateful you have such a beautiful resource that we can integrate into our work together..
For others, religion and faith community have been used as a weapon, causing great harm. If this is you, I am so deeply sorry for your pain. Spiritual trauma can heal, and I can walk with you through that if you would like to go there.
And sometimes, we are somewhere in the middle, deconstructing harmful messages and trying to rebuild as we rediscover faith and spirituality.
Whatever your experience with faith and religion, you are welcome to show up, just as you are. No judgment. Wherever you're coming from and wherever you are going, I will meet in that place to walk together.

Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul.
And sings the tune without the words.
And never stops at all.
